A chess match, Khan vs. Capablanca (1930), was analyzed to establish rules for the language of the tower. The match was a tale of opposition; Khan with organized, methodical, and clear movements, Capablanca: chaotic, unclear, and distraught in his.
From the play, a measure of time based on order and chaos was abstracted and integrated into the project. Spaces acting as independent nodes; one being present whilst the other has yet to exist. An anticipation of what's to come, much like the guiding principles of the game.
Concepts revolving around the political notions of chess were considered. The game within the game, the larger commentary on nations competing through the acts of one man against another. The satirical nature of it all; the hidden match that no one sees.
